How to Make...

Using Microsoft Word to Make a Game Point Board

Making therapy materials can be easy if you use your computer as a tool. Your Game Point Board can have questions, pictures, letters, numbers, or whatever you are working on during the term. It is also appropriate for any age and subject. Here are the steps:

Open a New word document.

Go to Table, then Insert Table.

Change the number of columns to 4 and the number of rows to 6, then click OK.

For a thick border, go to Edit, and Select All, then Format and Borders and Shading.

Your cursor will now be on the second page or at the bottom of your game board. Go to Edit, and click on Paste. The Game Board will be duplicated.

On the second Game Board, highlight the number under the category and change the font to 12, then type in a question or comment that requires an answer.

Replace all the numbers with a question that corresponds to the category.

When the student answers the question or responds correctly to the directions, then they get the corresponding points. If they have difficulty with math, show them how to use a calculator or add the points for them.
