Using PowerPoint as an Educational Tool
Open up the PowerPoint program.

Under "create a new presentation", select blank presentation. Click OK.

In the "new Slide" box, put the cursor over the blank screen and double click on it.

Now that you have a blank presentation with one slide, let’s enter some text. Go to Insert, Picture, then click on WordArt.

Select the WordArt that you would like and enter your text, then click OK.

Once the WordArt is on the slide, you can enlarge it or move it to another location. Click on the WordArt and when your cursor turns into arrows, drag and drop.

Now that we have text, let’s add a picture. Go to Insert, Picture, and Clip Art.

When you get the dialog box, type in a word describing what you are looking for and then Enter.

Highlight the picture you want, then click OK. The picture will be inserted into the slide.

To put in a text box, go to Insert, Text box, then click on the slide and drag the cursor to open a box. Next, type the text into the box.

To add a background color, go to Format, Background, then go to more colors and choose a color. Once your color is selected, choose, Apply.
