Time:  10 - 15 minutes

Materials:  Small pieces of raw fruit and/or vegetables such as apple, carrot, celery, onion, etc.

Activity:  Have your child identify food by its taste.  Tell him to close his eyes and squeeze his nose.  Then place a piece of fruit or vegetable in his mouth.

Suggested Script:  
"What does the piece of food taste like?" (sweet, bitter, sour, salty) and "What does it feel like?" (crunchy, hard, soft)
